The design intend and concept statement by Louise Labus, ASID, Head of interiors Lyman, Davidson Dooley
Tucked in to the urban industrial section of Atlanta, Tradewinds Partners’ new showroom will be a space of texture, color, form and function. The design was inspired by motion. The flow of presenting representatives and vendors with Tradewinds Partners’ product lines was achieved by the placement of curved walls, undulating lights, an arched fabrics sail, open and grid ceilings, floating drywall clouds and a mixture of lighting levels. Due to that volume of space, all elements ply their part to bring scale and harmony to the building and products on display. The space’s excitement does not dominate or complete with the traditional to cotemporary style. In fact, its simplicity enhances each product’s beauty.
Designers, representatives of dealerships and end users will have the pleasure to visit and examine the quality and workmanship of all Tradewinds Partners’ products in one convenient location. Upon entry into the space Lyman Davidson Dooley strategically placed ‘areas of interest’. New introduction or the product under consideration by the visiting client can be placed in these locations. In the back of the space, ceiling hung mobile fabric panels used to separate the product are versatile in nature. This allows complete and freedom within the space to display products in new innovative ways. In addition to the building’s loading dock used for product delivery, the building will contain a conference room, break room, office and workroom.
Lyman, Davidson Dooley worked with Tradewinds Partners’ for specification of architectural products from overstocked materials. Tradewinds Partners’ sensitivity to the environment helped Lyman, Davidson Dooley to meet their environmental requirements and all other goals defined for their new showroom space.
